Opening hours: daily 09:30-17:00. Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

The museum which was founded in 1962 is built around the restored Percy & Small Shipyard on the Kennebec River. There is a large collection of more than 100 small watercraft.

Museum ship: Sherman Zwicker (1941), two-masted fishing schooner.

The 35 feet bow section of the clipper ship Snow Squall, built at South Portland in 1851, was moved from the Spring Point Museum, South Portland, ME, to the Maine Maritime Museum in 1995.
