The Welcome, a 1980 reconstruction of a British sloop of war from around 1775, is afloat at the Mackinaw City Marina.

There is a maritime museum located in the Old Mackinaw Point Lighthouse in the Maritime Park.

Opening hours: Memorial Day Weekend — October 15, daily, 08:00-16:00. The museum, which is locatde adjacent to the old Whitefish Point Lighthouse, has exhibitions on Lake Superior shipwrecks. The museum also publishes the Great Lakes Shipwreck Journal.

SS Valley Camp (1917) Great Lake ore freight ship.

Contains a museum of Great Lakes shipping. Holds no. 2 and 3 includes information on the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald, which sank in a storm in 1975 on Lake Superior.
