Game Cock

An extreme/medium clipper ship built in 1850 by Samuel Hall, East Boston. Dimensions 190'6"×39'10"×22' and tonnage 1392 tons OM and 1119 tons NM. Her figurehead was of a game cock with an outstreched neck and head.

Launched at the shipyard of Samuel Hall, East Boston, for Daniel C. Bacon, Boston.
1851 April 3
Sailed from New York for San Francisco under command of Capt. Lewis G. Hollis. Crossed the line 17 days out from New York.
1851 April 24
Sprung the main mast and had to put into Rio de Janeiro for repairs 38 days out. The best day's distance was 325 miles.
1851 July 6 -
Sailed from Rio de Janeiro to San Francisco in 91 days. (128 days from New York).
1851 November 1 - January 17
Sailed from San Francisco to Bombay in 77 days.
1852 November 16 - March 10
Sailed from New York to San Francisco in 114 days.
1853 December 29 - April 23
Sailed from New York to San Francisco in 115 days under command Captain Osgood. Crossed the line 16 days out from New York.
1855 April 1 - August 24
Sailed from New York to San Francisco in 150 days.
1859 June 10
Sailed from New York to Batavia in 78 days under command of Captain Clement T. Jayne. The best day's distance was 337 miles.
