Kelso

A fullrigged wooden clipper ship built in 1861 by William Pile, Sunderland. Her dimensions were 150'0"×31'3"×18'5" and tonnage: 557 GRT, 557 NRT and 524 tons under deck. She had a raised quarter-deck 45 ft long.

Reduced to barque-rig before 1870.

D.R. McGregor has calculated her under deck coefficient to 0,60.

1861 February
Launched at the shipyard of William Pile, Sunderland, for J.R. Kelso, North Shields. Assigned the Official British No. 28595 and signal QBFJ. Employed in the China tea trade.
