Alastor

An iron barque built in 1875 by Mounsey & Foster, Sunderland. Dimensions 196'6"×31'7"×18'6" and 860 GRT, 797 NRT. Originally rigged with a main skysail.

1875: Launched at the shipyard of Mounsey & Foster, Sunderland, for R.H. Penney, Shoreham. Chartered to Shaw, Savill & Co., London, for several voyages to New Zealand.
1877 February 12 - May 30: Sailed from London to Auckland in 107 days.
1879 February 12 - March 18: Sailed from London to Auckland in 104 days.
1888: Was dismasted in a hurricane and had to put into Port Louis, Mauritius, to refit.
1889 ?? - February 21: Sailed from London [?] to Nelson, NZ, in 103 days.
1895: Sold to M.F. Stray, Kristiansand, Norway.
19__: Sold to Hans Hanse, Brevik.
1928: Sold to Karl Schröder, Hangö, Finland. Captain A. Karlsson.
1939: Laid up in the Blackwater River.
19__: Sold to Captain W. Lancaster, Ramsgate, and was renamed Bounty after having been fitted out as a floating restaurant.
1952: Broken up.
