An iron barque built in 1878 by D. & W. Henderson, Glasgow. Dimensions 187'8"×31'0"×18'5" and 752 GRT, 720 NRT and 714 tons under deck.

Launched at the shipyard of D. & W. Henderson, Glasgow, for J. Dunn & Sons, Glasgow. Assigned the official British Reg. No. 78615 and signal RNCB.
