Georg Stage

A full-rigged sail training ship built in 1882 by Burmeister & Wain, København, Denmark. Her dimensions are 30,72×7,68×3,35(d) meters [100'8"×25'2"×11'0"(d)] and tonnage 203 GRT, 149 NRT and displacement 400 tons.

1882: Launched at the shipyard of Burmeister & Wain, København, for Stiftelsen Georg Stages Minde. Employed as a sailing schoolship.
1905: Collided and was sunk by a British steamship.
1934: Sold to Alan Villers and company, Great Britain, and was renamed Joseph Conrad.
1936: Sold to George Huntington Hartford, USA.
1939-1945: US Merchant Marine schoolship.
1945-1947: Laid up.
1947: Transferred to the Mystic Seaport.
