Isabel Browne

An iron barque built in 1885 by Russell & Co., Port Glasgow. Dimensions 230'5"×36'1"×21'4" and 1326 GRT, 1289 NRT, 1242 tons under deck and 2000 DWT.

1885 August: Launched at the shipyard of Russell & Co., Port Glasgow, for Browne & Watson, Glasgow. Assigned the official British Reg. No. 90077 and signal KCDT. Captain James was appointed to command the new ship.
1903 June: Sold to August Troberg, Mariehamn, for FIM 155.000. The Finnish measurements were 68,03×10,69×6,22 meters and 1315 GRT and 1232 NRT. Captain Bruno Donner was given command of the vessel.
1907: Captain K.V. Lindqvist.
1910: Captain Axmar Eriksson.
1915 January 26: On voyage from Taltal for the English Channel the Isabel Browne was captured by the German aux. cruiser Prinz Eitel Friedrich and sunk the following day at 30°30'S, 24°45'W. The crew was brought to Newport News, VA, by the cruiser.
