Afganistan

A four-masted iron barque built in 1888 by Richardson, Duck & Co, Stockton. Dimensions 88,74×12,82×7,38 meters [291'2"×42'1"×24'3"] and tonnage 2286 GRT and 2221 NRT. Rigged with royal sails over double top- and topgallant sails.

Sistership to the same owner's Arracan.

1888 February: Launched at the shipyard of Richardson, Duck & Co., Stockton, for British and Eastern Shipping Co. Liverpool. Captain J. Callew.
1899: Sailed from San Francisco to Liverpool in 212 days.
1902: Sailed from San Francisco to Queenstown for orders in 297 days.
1905 June 3: Run down and sunk by the British cruiser [?] Caesar off Dungeness.
