Altair

A four-masted iron barque built in 1890 by W.H. Potter & Sons, Liverpool. Dimensions 91,64×12,85×7,51 meters [300'8"×42'2"×24'8"] and tonnage 2452 GRT and 2346 NRT. Rigged with double top- and single topgallant sails and royal and sky-sails on the fore and main masts.

Launched at the shipyard of W.H. Potter & Sons, Liverpool, for Boyes & Puyter, Bremen. Captain D.J. Spille was the master of the ship between 1890 and 1902 when he died in Rio de Janeiro.
1895
Sailed from Lizard to Calcutta in 83 days.
1907
Sold to Lewis, Heron & Co., London.
1914/15
Disappeared from Lloyd's Register. Final fate unknown.
