Ellisland

A four-masted iron ship built in 1884 by Oswald, Mordaunt & Co., Sunderland. Dimensions: 92,11×12,51×7,62 meters [302'3"×41'4"×25'0"] and tonnage: 2426 GRT and 2355 NRT.

Rigged with royal sails over double top and topgallant sails. Re-rigged as a four-masted barque during the early 1890s.

1884 April
Launched at the shipyard of Oswald, Mordaunt & Co., Sunderland, for J. Houston, Liverpool. Captain C. Roberts.
1902-1906
Laid up in San Francisco due to lack of freights.
1908
Sold to A. Weir & Co., Liverpool. Captain S.H. Whettem was given command of the barque.
1910 July 9
Left Newcastle, NSW, for Caldera, Chile, and was lost on the way.
