Nord
A four-masted steel ship built in 1889 by Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow.
Dimensions: 101,26×14,14×7,51 meters and [332'3"×46'5"×24'8"] and tonnage 3163 GRT and
3070 NRT.
Equipped with double bottom tanks and deep tank midships which could take 1350
tons of water ballast.
Rigged with royal sails over double top and topgallant sails.

- Launched at the shipyard of Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow, for Ant. Dom. Bordes et fils, Dunkerque. Used in the nitrate trade between
Chile and Europe.

- Sailed from Iquique to St Catherine's, Isle of Wight, in 71 days.
- 1915
- Was partially dis-masted off Cape Horn and had to put into
Montevideo for repairs.
- 1917 October 4
- Captain Fourchon and his crew defended themselves
successfully against a German submarine.
- 1923 April.
- Sold to be broken up. [Furrer says that she was
broken up in 1926].
