Pamir

A four-masted steel barque built in 1905 by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, as Yard No. 180. Her dimensions were: 96,34×14,04×7,99 meters [316'0×46'0×26'2] and tonnage: 3020 GRT and 2777 NRT.

Equipped with an donkey engine and Jarvis' patent brace whinches. Rigged with royals over double topgallant and top-sails.

Launched at the shipyard of Blohm & Voss, Hamburg.

Delivered to F. Laeisz, Hamburg. [Boberg has July 29]. Assigned the official German signal RNVFI [?]. Captain M. Prützmann became her first master.

Sailed from Buenos Ayres with a cargo of 3780 tons of grain in bulk.

Foundered in the hurricane Carrie off the Azores in position 35°57'N, 40°W. Out of the crew of 86 only six men survived.
