Périere
An iron screw-steamer built in 1865 by Robert Napier & Sons, Glasgow.
Dimensions: 345'0"×43'5"×29'0" and tonnage: 3150 GRT, 1755 NRT. The engine was of 900 HP.
Re-built as four-masted fullrigged ship in 1888 by Blyth Dry Dock Co., Blyth.
Dimensions 108,50×13,30×8,29 meters [356'0"×43'8"×27'3"] and tonnage 2678 GRT and 2600 NRT.
Rigged with royal sails over double top and top-gallant sails.

- Launched at the shipyard of Robert Napier & Sons, Glasgow, for Campagnie Générale Transatlantique, Le Havre,
as the Périere. Assigned the French signal KPHM. [Furrer says that she was launched in April 1865]
- 1881
- Caught fire in the harbour of La Goulette near Tunis and had to be sunk by a torpedoe.
- 1887
- Stranded off St Nazaire and received considerable hull damage.

- Sold to A.E. Kinnear & Co., London, who salvaged the ship.
- 1888
- Re-built as four-masted fullrigged sailing ship by Blyth Dry Dock Co., Blyth, for A.E. Kinnear & Co., London, and was renamed Lancing.
