Peter Iredale

A four-masted iron and steel barque built in 1890 by Ritson & Co., Maryport. Dimensions: 87,59×12,10×7,13 meters [287'5"×39'9"×23'5"] and tonnage: 2075 GRT and 1994 NRT. Rigged with royal sails above double top and topgallant sails.

1890 June
Launched at the shipyard of Ritson & Co., Maryport, for P. Iredale & Porter, Liverpool. Captain G.A. Brown was the first master of the ship.
1906 September 28
Left Salina Cruz, Mexico, in ballast for Portland, OR, under command of Captain Lawrence.
1906 October 25
Stranded on the Clatsop Sands at the entrance to the Columbia River.
The wreck is still visible at low tides.
