A four-masted steel barque built in 1902 by A. McMillan & Son, Dumbarton. Dimensions: 100,58×14,32×8,22 meters [330'0"×47'0"×27'0"] and tonnage: 3265 GRT and 3060 NRT.

Rigged with royal sails over double top and topgallant sails.

Sistership to the four-masted barque Alsterberg (1902).

1902 March 11: Launched at the shipyard of A. McMillan & Son, Dumbarton, for B. Wencke Söhne, Hamburg. Assigned the German signal RMKQ. The German measurements seem to have been 98,60×14,38×8,29 meters and 3265 GRT.
1902-1903: Captain F. Wolters was appointed master of the ship.
1903: Sailed from Lizard to San Diego in 118 days.
1903: Sailed from Los Angeles to Caleta Buena in 57 days.
1903/04: Sailed from Caleta Buena to Lizard in 116 days.
1904: In command of Captain E. Peitsmeier.
1904: Sailed from Lizard to Los Angeles in 148 days.
1904/05: Sailed from Los Angeles to Iquique in 49 days.
1905: Sailed from Pisagua to Lizard in 109 days.
1905-1906: In command of Captain J. Timme [Timmer?].
1905: Sailed from Lizard to Taltal in 98 days.
1905/06: Sailed from Tocopilla to the English Channel in 98 days.

1914: Sailed from Iquique to the English Channel in 127 days with a cargo od 5420 tons of nitrate.
1914 September 10: Seized by the Royal Navy cruiser HMS Diana in the English Channel and sold to the Anglo American Oil Co., for £ 16.500 and was renamed Speedonia. Captain Walsh late of the Port Jackson was given command of the vessel. [Meyer has September 14].
1917: Rebuild as a motor tanker and was renamed Scala Shell. Captain John Baxter was given command of the vessel.
1930: Broken up.
