Agnes Muir

An iron full-rigged ship built in 1869 by Robert Duncan & Co., Port Glasgow, as Yard No. 32. Dimensions 60,24×9,82×6,07 meters [197'5"×32'2"×19'9"] and 901 GRT, 851 NRT and 799 tons under deck. Rigged with royals over single topgallant and double topsails.

1869 March 13: Launched at the shipyard of Robert Duncan & Co., Port Glasgow, for James Galbraiht and partners, Glasgow. Assigned the official British Reg. No. 60412 and signal HSGR. Employed in the New Zealand passenger trade.
1874 July 27: Sold to Killick, Martin & Co., London.
1874: In command of Captain Evan Christian Lloud.
1874 - 1885: In command of Captain James Lowe.
1878 August 1 - January 21: Sailed from Foochow to London in 173 days with a cargo of tea. This was the only tea cargo carried.
1876: Carried about 1100 tons of sugar from Ilo Ilo, Panay, to Boston at £3 8s per ton.
1880 December 28 - April 12: Sailed from Hong Kong to Le Havre in 105 days.
1881 July 1 - October 31: Sailed from Cuxhaven to Hong Kong in 122 days or 111 days from Land's End.
1881 December 23 - April 6: Sailed from Hong Kong to Le Havre in 104 days.
1882 June 14 - September 29: Sailed from London to Hong Kong in 107 days.
1883 December 18 - May 23: Sailed from Cardiff to Yokohama in 157 days. The log from this voyage is preserved at the Meteorological Office, Harrow [Log 6110].
1885 May 19: Sold to E. Tobias, Brake, Germany, and was renamed Adele.
1899: Sold to J.G. Lübken, Elsfleth.
1902: Sold to Aktieselskabet Adele (E.M. Olsen), Tønsberg, Norway.
1909: Sold to McIlwraith McEacharn Ltd., Melbourne, for £ 2000 and converted into a coal hulk named Agnes Muir. The lower masts were left standing.
1957 July: Sold to a Melbourne shipbreaker and was broken up.
